ORDER OVER THE COUNTER
How do I obtain the excerpt from the Criminal Record directly over the counter in Bern?
The excerpt will only be issued over the counter if you obey the following instructions:
- An excerpt from the Criminal Record can only be requested for oneself (Art. 363 StGB).
- The charge for each excerpt is CHF 20.00 (Ordinance of the FDJP (Federal Department of Justice and Police) on Charges for excerpts from the Criminal Record for Private Individuals). The excerpts must be paid for in cash on the spot.
- You must present identity papers at the counter (current official identification document, for example identity card, residency permit, residence confirmation, driving license, foreigner’s permit).
- Excerpts about other people will only be issued on presentation of a legible signed power of attorney (not older than three months), plus a current official form of identification for the person concerned.
The counter (Am Bundesrain 20, Bern) is open for service at the following times:
Monday to Friday 8.00 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
