About us
familyservice was set up in November 1996 as a project on behalf of and with initial financial help from the Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft des Kantons Zürich GGKZ. The Handelskammer und Arbeitgebervereinigung Winterthur HAW also provided support. In 1999, Theres Hofmann and Kathrin Toberer established thkt GmbH and took on the responsibility of running familyservice as a business. In June 2000, the familyservice project was awarded the Winterthur Equal Opportunities Prize. In summer 2000, thkt GmbH enhanced the services offered by familyservice by establishing the Verein Arbeitgeberkrippen as the umbrella organisation for the workplace crèches set up and run by thkt GmbH. Our services have been available to our partner companies throughout Switzerland since 2005. In order to offer these services locally across different regions, four regional partners operate within the familyservice network. "Frac", Centre for information and consultation for women and work, is responsible for the familyservice Middle, Halex GmbH for the familyservice West and Liala Cattaneo, freelancer, for the familyservice South.
